BINUS UNIVERSITY & Tsinghua University Partnership Sets New Milestones in Architectural Research and Education
Jakarta, 17 September – The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, the top-ranked architecture school in China will help strengthen the institutional cooperation in the next five years.

With strong expertise in technology and innovation, BINUS University carries the mission of addressing national issues in the engineering field through innovative applied research and practices that benefit society through our cutting edge Architecture program that plays a strategic role on this mission, responding to urban environment challenges and generating high-impact research and implementing community-driven practices, such as the Science and Techno Park with the Application of High-Tech Architecture Concept research project in Tangerang, Indonesia.
This partnership not only strengthens BINUS University’s global academic engagement but also reflects the shared values between the two institutions. During this period, both institutions are committed to focus on mobility programs and impactful programs that covers the area of:
- Exchange of undergraduate students
- Exchange of academic personnel
- Joint design studios, courses, conferences, symposia, and academic programs
- Exchange of academic or scientific materials and publications of mutual interest
Tsinghua University School of Architecture, whose development strategy is rooted in the Sciences of Human Settlements integrates education with research and applied practices to address the pressing needs of China’s construction and development sector, while driving forward initiatives in sustainable urban-rural planning, ecological preservation, and green architecture practices.
Looking ahead, this partnership will unlock greater opportunities for academic exchange, collaborative research, and innovation across discplines. With shared values and complementary strengths, both institutions are poised to shape the future of sustainable development, benefiting not only Indonesia and China but also the wider global community.
