This collaboration was brought to life in hopes of contributing to the industry, which is currently navigating uncertain times after a year of stagnation. Growth was 4.87% in the first quarter of 2025.

“We are proud to join hands with our partners at Rantai Tekstil Lestari in their efforts to build a sustainable textile industry, a mission that resonates deeply with BINUS University’s vision to foster society and empower the nation. This partnership will allow us to share knowledge and expertise through teaching, research, and collaborative initiatives,” said Dr. Rini Setiowati, our Vice-Rector of Collaboration and Global Engagement.

The collaborative path proposed by Dr. Rini resonates with the association’s strategy to connect with leading academic institutions, such as BINUS University, to play an active role in shaping a more sustainable fashion industry.

“Our doors are open for BINUS University to collaborate through a range of impactful initiatives from benchmarking visits to the SDG Academy, to co-developing textile standardization training, empowering students through design competitions, and jointly contributing to policy recommendations via Focus Group Discussions,” added Basrie Kamba, Chair of the Board at Rantai Tekstil Lestari and President Director of PT. Asia Pacific Rayon.

The fashion program at BINUS University will ensure the relevancy of knowledge in this field, which can help ignite innovation and growth towards sustainability, enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s textile and fashion industries, and cultivate an ecosystem that supports inclusive and sustainable growth of the creative economy for future generations.
