Immigration corner launching
BINUS UNIVERSITY Launches Immigration Services
On 31st July 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY in cooperation with the Class 1 Jakarta Immigration Office, officially launched ‘Immigration Corner’ at a MoU signing ceremony which was held at the university’s Anggrek campus in Jakarta. As the first university in Indonesia to provide this service, the collaboration is aimed at assisting students and faculty members with their immigration needs such as applying for passports and visas. Present at the event was Mr Bernard Gunawan as CEO of BINUS Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo as rector of BINUS UNIVERSITY and the Director General of Immigration Mr Ronny Sompie.
It is hoped that the new services will also help simplify visa and KITAS applications for international visitors and thus will benefit BINUS UNIVERSITY’s many overseas partners in academia and industry. As such, a fast-track immigration service is essential for higher education institutions in Indonesia to attract the best global talent and reduce bureaucratic roadblocks for entrepreneurs and innovators.
BINUS UNIVERSITY’s most recent initiative showcases its strategy to accommodate a greater number of long-term international collaborations in areas such as research, knowledge transfer, and student and faculty exchange; making the university well-attuned to the demands of an increasingly-integrated region.
