Jakarta, 25 April 2026 – Securing a position within the Top 500 of the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026, BINUS University stands among the top five universities in Indonesia and continues to hold its position as the country’s leading private university. This recognition reflects a consistent trajectory of strengthening academic and research quality as well as expanding strategic global collaborations, further reinforcing the university’s growing recognition across the region. 

“This achievement reflects our long-standing commitment to delivering education that is relevant and impactful. As we reach our 45th year, it motivates us to reinforce our direction by accelerating innovation, expanding global partnerships, and preparing every Binusian to contribute meaningfully at both national and international levels,” stated Rector Nelly. 

Amid Asia’s expanding role in world economic growth, the demand for globally competitive talent has reached a high level, with economies increasingly requiring advanced skills to remain competitive and sustain long-term development. Responding to this, BINUS continues to accelerate the transformation into a world-class university aligned with market relevance and future demands. We pursue this vision by strengthening education, advancing research, and fostering community engagement through interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, the integration of global best practices, and strategic partnerships across government, industry, international organizations, and local communities. 

Since the early 2010s, we have also actively expanded our international partnerships to support our vision. These efforts underscore more than 15 years of strong commitment to strengthening global recognition, aligned with the five key indicators of THE Asia University Rankings: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Industry Outcome.

This year, we recorded improvements across all indicators, most notably in strengthening our research environment and deepening collaboration with industry, driving further gains in research quality and teaching that continue to attract global talent to engage with our academic community. 

These advancements not only enhance our global standing but also reinforce public trust in the quality of our graduates, the impact of our research, and our commitment to community empowerment. Building on this trust, we actively collaborate with global stakeholders to co-develop solutions, drive innovation, and create sustainable impact that remains relevant to societal needs.
