BINUS UNIVERSITY Sustains Long-Term Partnership with Republic Polytechnic for Expanding Industry-Based Learning
Jakarta, 10 April 2026 – As part of our continued effort to strengthen collaboration across Asia, we renewed our long-standing partnership with Republic Polytechnic, Singapore. Since the collaboration began in 2017, this partnership has grown through various academic initiatives, and the renewed agreement will open more opportunities for our academic community and external stakeholders to be involved in shaping industry-based learning.

“Over the years, we have built a strong and active partnership with Republic Polytechnic through various academic initiatives, from guest lectures and mobility programs to community development, training, joint projects, and internships. As collaborative programs continued to expand, we began to see more opportunities to bring students closer to real industry experience,” shared Dr. Andreas Chang, Campus Director of BINUS @Senayan.

Internships became one of the most relevant areas, especially as students from both sides showed interest in learning beyond their own country. Republic Polytechnic students are interested in exploring Indonesia’s industry environment, while BINUS students are also eager to gain exposure in Singapore.

Through these opportunities, students can learn directly from the workplace, experience different professional settings, and bring new perspectives back to their academic journey. This direction has helped make the partnership more practical and relevant. Between 2020 and 2025, BINUS and Republic Polytechnic implemented 25 joint programs, supported by the strong industry networks of both institutions.

The renewed agreement is therefore not a new beginning, but a way to take this existing collaboration further with hospitality and tourism as one of the key areas.

“After years of working together through various academic programs, we want to create more opportunities that connect learning with real industry experience. This is especially important in hospitality and tourism, where our students need not only classroom knowledge, but also practical exposure, adaptability, and a broader understanding of regional industry practices,” said Ashley Chua, Republic Polytechnic’s Senior Director of Student Services.

By extending this partnership, BINUS University and Republic Polytechnic aim to create broader opportunities for students and the academic community to gain applied insights, develop knowledge together, and connect more closely with industry. The collaboration will continue through various academic and industry-related programs, including internships, exchanges, joint research, seminars, teaching activities, curriculum development, and academic publications. Through these efforts, we hope to improve the quality and relevance of education further while strengthening academic collaboration between Indonesia and Singapore.
