Jakarta, 18 June — BINUS University now ranks in the 301-400 band in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025 as part of its commitment to fostering local communities and sustainable development.
“Rising to the 301–400 global rank in THE Impact Rankings 2025 is a proud moment for us. This achievement demonstrates our collective efforts in integrating sustainability into research, education, and community development that aligned with Catur Dharma Perguruan Tinggi to make a positive impact on society,” said Dr. Nelly, S.Kom., M.M., BINUS University’s Rector.
This achievement highlights BINUS University’s commitment, improving from last year’s 401-600 position, driven by our strong performance in global partnerships for sustainable development. We earned our highest score among the 2,526 participating universities across 130 countries by implementing sustainable practices as part of campus life. We continue our efforts to apply our expertise to empower society by advancing quality education and strengthening collaborative relationships with our local and global partners.
“Building a sustainable future means caring for the Earth and empowering people. We truly believe our focus on computer science and digital innovation will help us to shape a brighter and more inclusive future,” added Dr. Nelly.
To further evaluate and enhance our contributions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we have actively participated in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings since 2021. This global ranking system offers a valuable framework for measuring how higher education institutions tackle pressing global challenges through research, teaching, outreach, and operations.
Lastly, we also gained increased recognition for our community-driven actions aimed at reducing poverty through improving literacy in Indonesia’s remote regions, promoting sustainable consumption, and fostering innovation in developing eco-friendly products. Therefore, these collective efforts demonstrate our commitment to advancing educational quality and fostering impactful research and innovation that positively transform communities and contribute to an inclusive and sustainable future.
