BINUS UNIVERSITY Partners with PANASONIC for Technological Advancements and to Shape Future Talent in the Manufacture Sector
Jakarta, 17 January – The visit by the Faculty of Engineering lecturers and staff from BINUS University to Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia (PMI) and PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solutions Manufacturing Indonesia (PGLSMID) in Cileungsi, West Java, aims to foster long-term partnerships that deliver global practical learning for our students and empower faculty members to delve into advancements in electronic manufacturing technologies.

“The visit to PMI and PT PGLSMID gave us hands-on exposure to the production process of home appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators. Beyond observing operational systems, we gained insights into safety protocols, workplace culture, monitoring systems, and continuous improvement strategies, which will enrich the practical knowledge we pass on to our students,” explained Taufik, Ph.D., Head of the Industrial Engineering Department.

The discussions focused on initiating joint research projects to transfer knowledge from BINUS University academics to Panasonic, particularly regarding Industry 4.0 equipment, designing dashboards for SMART manufacturing, and creating internship opportunities for our students. These initiatives will not only enhance the skills of our students and faculty but also contribute to improving manufacturing systems and developing Indonesia’s human resources in science and technology. This aligns with BINUS University’s vision of becoming a world-class institution that elevates society’s quality of life through high-quality education.
