Jakarta, 6 January –  BINUS University has once again shown its achievement in the latest UI GreenMetric ranking! Here are your quick snaps on what you need to know!

The Most Improved Institution

Achieving 37th place in Indonesia and 330th worldwide in 2024, we have made a significant leap of 40 positions at the national level and 500 at the global level compared to last year.

This recognition is a testament to our commitment to sustainability, where we embed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our academic programs while fostering inclusive community initiatives that empower and unite all Binusians.

Standing Out from the Crowd

UI GreenMetric examined 1,477 universities from 95 countries, focusing on six critical criteria and 39 indicators in infrastructure, energy, climate change, waste, water, transportation, and research.

This ranking encourages universities worldwide to improve their sustainability practices and contribute to the global effort in environmental preservation.

“As the number of participants continues to rise this year, we can’t help but reflect on our journey.  This surge marks a significant milestone, revealing institutions’ shared commitment to sustainability. It reinforces our vision for a sustainable future—one that nurtures collaboration, creates synergy, and leaves a lasting impact on the academic world,” ,” said Prof. Riri Fitri Sari, Head of UI GreenMetric.

Through this collaboration, we aim to raise awareness, encourage positive behavioral shifts, and create a lasting impact contributing to the nation’s growth.

As we celebrate this achievement, we reaffirm our commitment to integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of university life, encouraging every Binusian to help create a greener future.
