This year, we are pleased to have initiated the debut participation of the Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI) where we are also a proud member! What’s exciting is that this is their debut at the Exhibition. As one of Europe’s most prominent educational conferences and exhibitions, EAIE Toulouse 2024 attracted over 7,300 participants from 110 countries; this is one of the year’s most anticipated events!

Along with the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) and Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), which represented NUNI at the exhibition, the booth served as a hub to promote NUNI’s international collaboration, emphasizing its four key pillars: student mobility, staff and faculty mobility, research and innovation collaboration, and reinforcing global reputation.

“We have received several bilateral collaboration proposals to be extended to other NUNI members, including for Erasmus+ student mobility program. We conveyed this positive news to the NUNI Secretariat for taking follow-up actions,” as mentioned by Satrio Nugroho, the Program & Collaboration Section Head (International Higher Education Institution Non-Asia) at BINUS University.

During the four-day event, the delegation from BINUS University, led by Ms. Theodora Subyantoro, Strategic Collaboration Manager, immersed themselves in discussions for building strategic collaborations with various top universities identified as potential partners. These included our key internationalization collaborative efforts such as student exchange programs, faculty mobility, joint research initiatives, and support for enhancing global rankings.

“Collaborating with other universities such as BINUS University, IPB University, UMSU, and Padjadjaran University at EAIE has been a great push to promote Indonesia in the global stage. As part of the NUNI members, I believe that this is the spirit that we should nurture to pave the way for all of us,” said Dr. Dian Sari Utami, Director of Partnership and International Affairs at the Islamic University of Indonesia

With BINUS University ranking in the top #951-1000 in the QS World University Ranking 2025, we are committed to enhancing our performance as a leading university that offers a world-class learning environment focused on academic excellence and innovation. The continuous collaborative efforts demonstrate our strong commitment to building sustainable partnerships with Indonesia and international partners, including stakeholders such as higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government agencies, and industry sectors.

“The results of our discussions with the university delegations have opened doors for new bilateral cooperation in student exchange programs between BINUS University and SAOS University of London in the UK, FH Münster and Heilbronn UAS in Germany, as well as the University of Twente and Fontys UAS in the Netherlands, and many more to come,” added Mr. Satrio.

To sum up, the engagement we had with NUNI members is a true testament to the importance of collaboration in promoting excellence through exciting activities that not only ignite innovation but also become a catalyst for change that solidifies BINUS University’s commitment to fostering and empowering society in building the nation.
