Jakarta, 23 August — Diversity is crucial for fostering a multidisciplinary approach to public sector reform, as stressed by Dr. Ramona Brains, Senior Lecturer and Program Director for the Master of Global Business and MBA-MSc Euro Asian Program at the University of Glasgow, UK, during a seminar with our Doctor of Research in Management (DRM).

“The cognitive constraints faced by policymakers, coupled with the unpredictability of policy outcomes, highlight the importance of incorporating public values in policy design since it is the public who will be most affected by these policies,” during her session that delved into bounded rationality and reverse innovation.

DRM students from diverse fields, including the private sector, government, entrepreneurship, and academia, attended the seminar. This diversity played a crucial role in enriching the discussion and promoting a broad perspective on public sector challenges, especially regarding sustainable development.

By bridging different perspectives from these fields, the seminar offered a unique lens through which students could examine how their distinct experiences could contribute to the complex challenges of sustainable development.

The session also illustrated how integrating perspectives from different sectors could provide DRM students with a deeper understanding of how their unique experiences could contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It encouraged participants to reflect on their studies at BINUS University and apply their knowledge to make meaningful contributions to public sector reform.

Finally, fostering collaboration across sectors and disciplines has never been more important. The critical role that both academic insights and practical experiences play in shaping the future of public sector reform was exemplified through the latest seminar brought by Dr. Ramona Brains, together with our DRM students. By continuing to promote international partnerships and advancing the agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), BINUS University is committed to driving meaningful change that benefits both local and global communities.
