Jakarta – When the delegation from the University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) arrived, they received a warm welcome from Professor Ts. Dr. Faidz Abd Rahman, Vice President of Research & Development and Commercialization, who led the delegation, and Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., M.Si., our Vice-Rector of Research and Technology Transfer, as well as the research group leaders of BINUS University. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposed research collaborations and student mobility programs.

The collaboration’s scope includes modern language and literature alongside sustainability and technology. Prof. Juneman remarked, “At BINUS University, we offer English, Mandarin, and Japanese literature programs.” Both institutions recognize that language studies are essential for promoting cultural understanding and global communication and for preparing students for the creative industry.

During the visit, both delegations had lively discussions about potential research collaborations in their areas of expertise, where they found common interests. They focused their dialogue on sustainability, ecological systems, green technology, biotechnology, and modern language and literature. Representatives from both institutions explored various opportunities to align their research priorities, with the aim of addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.

Beyond research collaboration, Dr. Dwiyantari Widyaningrum, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Biotechnology Department, expressed interest in broadening the partnership to include student mobility and internship programs. “These programs are envisioned to offer students invaluable cultural exchange experiences and hands-on global learning and working opportunities in Biotechnology, thus enhancing their academic and professional growth,” said Dr. Widyaningrum.
