BINUS UNIVERSITY Students Triumph in ASEAN Skills Competition

Students of BINUS UNIVERSITY recently won six medals at the 10th ASEAN Skills Competition which took place from October 19 – 26 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The BINUS’ delegation has been successfully awarded with four Gold medals and two Bronze medals along with two Medallions of Excellence. The final result ranked Vietnam team as the first winner of the competition, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia.

A total of eight students represented BINUS UNIVERSITY at the regional competition this year. They competed in 4 fields (Graphic Design Technology, IT Software Solution for Business, Web Design and IT Network System Administration) of the 25 possible areas of competition which ranged from IT and electronics to design and engineering.

The ASEAN Skills Competition is a biennial competition that aims to promote and improve vocational skills in the region in order to meet international standards. The regional skills competition, themed “Skills – Our intrinsic values”, gathered around 293 contestants under the age of 22 from ASEAN member countries competing in 23 occupational skills and two performance skills. The event is also being attended by 700 foreign technical experts, teachers and observers, as well as thousands of students.
